Alligator basics

The Alligator Indicator consists of three moving averages that reveal market trends and direction. These lines represent an alligator's jaw, teeth, and lips, giving the appearance of a hunting alligator — hence the name. It simplifies the decision of when to enter or exit trades.

Indicator reading

When the three lines are close together, the alligator is sleeping, and the market is in a period of rest. Time to wait! But when the lines start separating, the alligator is waking up, and a new trend is forming. If the green line crosses above the others, it indicates an uptrend. If it dips below, a downtrend is on the menu. The wider the gap between lines, the stronger the trend.

Trade execution 

Bullish Indication: Press “Call” when the Alligator's lips (green line) cross above the teeth (blue line), while the teeth should cross the jaw (red) line from bottom to top.

Bearish Indication: Press “Put” when the Alligator's lips (green line) cross below the teeth (blue line), while the teeth should cross the jaw (red line) from top to bottom.
